Sarah does give me homework. I can’t undo bad habits that I’ve spent over 40 years creating just by following another diet. I sometimes feel resistant (‘cause inertia, yay! Effort, boo!). But I really wanted this. Also…..baby steps! I can do anything for 15 minutes a day. And that’s the stuff that’s really getting my life back on track, the food coaching combined with small, consistent, compounding adjustments to the rest of my habits. Personal empowerment, self-esteem, tools for transforming previously crazymaking situations, a shifting relationship with food, weight, hydration, exercise, social interactions, overall health and tranquility.
It’s great that the extra weight is almost gone, but even more precious is realizing that I’ve been given access to a system with holistic habit changes where I DON’T HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE SUREFIRE KNOWLEDGE THAT IT WILL ALL COME BACK. And still live in the world, going to parties and bars and dinners and festivities and not having to feel like an outsider.
